We are the Parrot Heads of the Upper Keys

The term "Parrot Head" was coined in 1985 at a Jimmy Buffett concert. At the show, Jimmy commented about everyone wearing Hawaiian shirts and parrot hats and how they kept coming back to see his shows, just like Deadheads, and coined the term "Parrot Head" to describe each of those fans.

Our “Pirates on the Water”(Parrot Heads of the Upper Keys) Club is a social and community group that engages in activities that are charitable, educational and that promote the general welfare of the community.

Our ‘Party with a Purpose’ motto is to assist in fundraising for local charities and volunteerism in our community. We provide a variety of social activities for people who are interested in the music of Jimmy Buffett and the tropical lifestyle he personifies.

Here are our monthly activities:

  • Monthly General Membership Meetings (first Thursday of each month) - Visitors are always welcome.
  • Monthly Happy Hours / Flockings (second Friday of each month) - These are social gatherings of Pirates members at various local restaurants and bars where specials are offered.
  • Monthly Raft Ups (alternating Saturdays/Sundays the third weekend of each month, weather permitting) - Boat owners and those that like to ride on boats meet-up at various designated locations on water to socialize (eat, drink, and be merry) and enjoy our beautiful Keys waters.

We also have other fundraising &/or volunteer activities throughout the year.
